The short version#
We open the public Novaluxia PH catalogue, take a product, find the identical listing on Lazada, read both prices on the same day, and write the difference down. If Novaluxia PH is not lower, the item does not get a page. Every page shows the date, both prices and the listing we compared, so the whole claim is something you can re-run yourself in a minute.
Where each number comes from#
The Novaluxia PH price is the listed selling price in the public store catalogue at novaluxia.ph. It is what the catalogue returns for that product, including the variant names, which is why a page may say "black" or "5000mAh black" next to the photo.
The comparison price is the current selling price printed on the Lazada listing for the same item, read from the product page on the same day. It is the price a shopper pays before delivery, and the delivery fee we saw is listed in the comparison table. Voucher chips, cashback rows and struck-through original prices are ignored, since none of them is the price of the product.
Both figures are read, not estimated. If a listing hides its price behind a login or a verification wall, the item is skipped rather than guessed.
How an item earns a page#
- Same model. The store product and the comparison listing have to be the same product line, not a lookalike.
- Same size. Litres, kilograms, millimetres, capacities, pack counts and piece counts must line up. A 2.0m rack is never compared against a 2.4m rack; if the sizes differ, the item is held back until a matching variant is read.
- Same day. Both prices are read on the same date, and that date is printed on the page.
- Cheaper at Novaluxia PH. The store price has to be genuinely lower. Items that are level or higher are not published, and they are not disguised as "special" or "similar" either.
- Linked. Every page links the exact listings on both sides.
The date is part of the claim#
Prices in Philippine e-commerce move, on both sides, sometimes inside a single campaign. That is why we print the date on the card, in the comparison table and in the sentence that carries the saving. A saving without a date is a rumour; a saving with a date is a fact you can check.
We re-read the list on a regular cycle. Each product page carries the date of its own last check, so you always know how fresh the numbers in front of you are.
What we leave out#
We do not publish an item just to fill a category. Items where the sizes did not match, where the listing had already sold out, or where the store price was higher are all left off the site rather than written up as a maybe. The catalogue runs to thousands of products from the 105+ merchant partners the platform works with, and we check a slice of it at a time, so the list grows as the checking does.
We also do not carry voucher arithmetic. A price is the price on the product page, which is the number you can hold us to.
Corrections#
If you see a price that has moved, tell us and we will re-read it and update the date on the page. The store catalogue and the listing are both public, so a correction is quick to verify and we would rather have the right number up.
